Cone Section

The cone section at the top of Breezy Clipper©® is used to house the re-entry shield. The shield will either be powered by a magnetic field, or be a BRI-18 and carbide covered umbrella with an super-cooled nitrogen filled balloon, to buttress some of the re-entry stress on the overall airframe and aeroshell.

The cone has a one meter diameter opening from which deploys the re-entry shield umbrella. The umbrella is supported by an hydraulic system able to sustain several thousand tons of load. The ballon is made of thermal insulating material able to whitstand a thousand degrees plus of heat.

The cone is detachable from the cargo bay section through the use of docking locks.
